Welcome to Mickleover Gymnastics Club!
Here at MGC we offer professional gymnastics lessons for children from 9 months, from beginner to elite level, in a friendly, encouraging and enthusiastic environment. Our aim is to bring the best out of every child, whether they take part as a healthy hobby, or train with the hope of becoming a future olympian! We have a fantastic team of qualified and experienced coaches, some of which will specialise in different disciplines of gymnastics, to help teach our gymnasts not only the movements needed for gymnastics, but also teamwork, discipline, determination and positive thinking.
A Brief History
Mickleover Gymnastics Club was established in 2002 in a primary school hall in Mickleover village (hence the name) with less than 30 members and minimal equipment. Over the next 7 years we went on to develop and grow, and in 2009 had to re-locate to find our own 11,000 sq ft permanent gymnastics training facility, and we have been here ever since!
The training facility
Our training facility consists of two 5,500sq ft gymnasiums, a main reception area, a mezzanine floor viewing area for shows, and a canteen that serves hot food on Saturdays (currently unavailable due to covid-19), available for parents, gymnasts and coaches.
Gym 1
Sprung floor, tumble track, full length mirrors with ballet bar,vault run up, bar area including 2 sets of asymmetric bars, parallel bars, high bar, rings and preschool gymnastics bars, olympic sized trampoline boxed in for safety and a foam pit area for landings from tumble track, vault, bars and trampoline.
Gym 2
Olympic sized sprung floor, air track with landing area, vault run up, beam area including training beams, mezzanine floor for meetings and viewing for competitions and shows, purpose built sound & lighting system control deck for competitions and shows.
Parking
We have our own free private car park with approx 12 spaces inside the gates, but there is usually plenty of room on Amberley Drive to park your car if all spaces are taken. This may get busy during peak times. Please ensure you follow the one way system around the car park to prevent congestion. As you drive in, the row on the left hand side is reserved for staff only.
